Randy Travis is canceling all but three dates of his upcoming The Music of Randy Travis tour.
Shows are still scheduled at Victory Theatre in Evansville, Indiana, on Oct. 17, at Island View Casino in Gulfport, Mississippi, on Oct. 19 and Nashville's famed Ryman Auditorium on Oct. 28, but the rest have been abandoned for the time being.
Travis' rep explains the country star has nixed the dates due to production and content issues. Travis’ team plans to focus their efforts on the three remaining shows and hopes to add more markets on Travis’ next trek.
This was to be Travis' first tour since suffering a stroke in 2013 that left him unable to sing as he used to, with James Dupré filling the iconic singer's boots. Travis would attend all the shows and possibly sing on the beloved, chart-topping track “Forever and Ever, Amen.”
