Dolly Parton donated $1 million to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and its efforts to produce a coronavirus vaccine. That included Moderna's vaccine trial.
She said her friend, who is a surgeon at Vanderbilt, ”informed me that they were making some exciting advancements towards that research of the coronavirus for a cure" and she wanted to support those efforts.
